Michael Webber on Wednesday voted in favor of a plan to invest an additional $175 million into road repairs across Michigan as soon as possible.“This additional funding for road repairs will help Oakland County,” said Webber, of Rochester Hills.  “With temperatures warming up, there will be more potholes popping up throughout the area. This plan will help our communities and improve roads in the Greater Rochester Area.”The money included in the bill approved this week comes in addition to previous changes that provide more funding for road and bridge projects in Michigan.“After decades of underfunding roads in our state, the plan that was passed in 2015 and this additional money will start to catch up to where we need to be,” Webber said.The new bill includes money for counties, cities and villages throughout Michigan.Some of the estimated local allocations include Oakland County ($7,015,327) Rochester ($75,975) and Rochester Hills ($492,245).The money is left over from a previous state government budget cycle and is already available, meaning no budget cuts or additional fees are required for the investment.House Bill 4321 advances to the Senate for further consideration.### Categories: Webber Newslast_img
