Playboy Audio Playboy has a recent history of wacky ideas, and its latest oddball announcement is the company’s first Bluetooth headphones: the Playboy Audio Icon 1. You know, because the magazine interviewed Miles Davis or something. The $149 headphones promise better comfort in a lightweight design and feature the iconic bunny logo over each earcup, as well as the word Playboy on the headband.Playboy Audio says the Icon 1 has an “ultrapremium distortion-free sound combined with our powerful rich bass offers a superior, industry leading, high-fidelity listening experience”.The Icon 1 also offers “better hands-free calling” (ick) using the company’s “advanced microphone technology” and the ability to listen for up to 22 hours per charge. The magazine’s racy history is never far away, especially when it comes to fan extras like the promised and suggestively-named “Pleasures Playlist.”The Icon 1s aren’t even the weirdest thing to happen under the Playboy banner in the past few years. In 2015, after 62 years of naked centerfolds, Playboy magazine went non-nude, and yet the decision only lasted for 18 months. In March 2018, six months after founder Hugh Hefner’s death, the brand announced it was developing an online cryptocurrency wallet for paying for… the articles; yeah, that’s it. Bluetooth Headsets Headphones,I’m shocked — shocked! — to learn that stores are turning Labor Day into an excuse to sell stuff. Wait — no, I’m not. As much as I respect the original intent of the holiday (which became official back in 1894), to most of us, it’s just a bonus day off — one that’s blissfully tacked onto a weekend. So, yeah, stores; go ahead, run your sales. I’m listening. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Labor Day doesn’t bring out bargains to compete with the likes of Black Friday (which will be here before you know it), but there are definitely some sales worth your time. For example:We’ve rounded up the best Labor Day mattress deals. We’ve also gathered the best Labor Day laptop deals at Best Buy.The 2019 Vizio P Series Quantum is back under $999.Be sure to check out Amazon’s roughly three dozen Labor Day deals on TVs and audio. So why didn’t he do something about Russian meddling?”Trump raised similar questions over the weekend, after an indictment from special counsel Robert Mueller charged 13 Russians with a plot to interfere in the U.S. presidential election.President Barack Obama in late 2016 defended his administration’s response to the Russian meddling, also saying he had confronted Russian President Vladimir Putin that September, telling him to “cut it out.”Trump repeatedly challenged the veracity of the mounting evidence about Russian interference in the 2016 campaign. By Lynn Elber, AP Television WriterLOS ANGELES (AP) — ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey, who created a deep bench of ethnic diversity in the network’s shows and fired Roseanne Barr for a racist tweet, will be stepping down. Her decision announced Nov. 16 comes amid ABC corporate parent Walt Disney Co.’s pending acquisition of 21st Century Fox and the planned reorganization of Disney’s television units. In this June 13, 2018 file photo, Channing Dungey arrives at the Women In Film Crystal and Lucy Awards in Beverly Hills, Calif. (Photo by Chris Pizzello/Invision/AP, File)Dungey, who became the first African-American programming chief for a major broadcast network when she was named to the job in February 2016, will be replaced by Karey Burke, head of programming development at ABC sibling cable channel Freeform since 2014, the network said.Dungey will remain during a transition period as Burke takes over.Burke’s resume includes overseeing production of NBC prime-time series including “ER” and “The West Wing” from 1999 to 2003, during which time she developed “Scrubs,” ”Freaks & Geeks” and other shows. In a statement, Dungey said she could have called ABC home for many more years but wants to tackle new, unspecified challenges.Under Dungey, both as president and in her previous job as head of ABC’s drama development, the network became the home of “Scandal,” ”How to Get Away With Murder” and other multiethnic shows from powerhouse African-American producer Shonda Rhimes. But Rhimes, whose shows own ABC’s Thursday prime-time schedule, and another prominent producer, Kenya Barris of the network’s sitcom “black-ish,” have both jumped ship for lucrative streaming deals.More recently, Dungey made news for her quick action in canning Barr from her revived namesake show “Roseanne” after the actress-comedian posted an insulting tweet about former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, who is African-American. Barr apologized, but the show, which had been an immediate success for ABC, was revamped without her and debuted this fall as “The Conners.”In October, Disney said it was bringing in Fox executive Dana Walden as chairman of Disney Television Studios and ABC Entertainment.Burke will report to Walden after the Fox acquisition is completed, with Burke’s replacement at Freeform to be announced, ABC said.In a statement, Disney CEO Bob Iger lauded Dungey for her “curiosity, passion and creativity” and predicted she will be successful at whatever she chooses to pursue.Burke, a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, said she was honored to continue Dungey’s legacy of “excellent storytelling that touches so many people’s hearts.”
